Instructions

  1. Prep Your Ingredients (5 minutes): Take cheeses out of fridge to soften. Wash and slice apple and pear, toss with lemon juice. Slice baguette into thin rounds. Optionally toast bread under broiler.
  2. Place Your Bowls (2 minutes): Arrange small bowls or ramekins on board. Fill with honey, fig jam, whole-grain mustard, and olives.
  3. Add the Cheeses (3 minutes): Place cheese varieties around board. Cut harder cheeses into cubes or thin slices. Leave brie whole or cut into wedges. Place blue cheese in crumbly pile.
  4. Layer the Meats (3 minutes): Fold or roll sliced meats and place in different spots. Fold prosciutto into loose ribbons, fan out salami slices.
  5. Fill in with Fruits & Veggies (4 minutes): Place apple and pear slices in overlapping fans. Tuck grape clusters into empty spaces. Add dried figs or apricots near blue cheese.
  6. Add the Crunch (3 minutes): Sprinkle spiced pecans and almonds into remaining gaps. Add cornichons and pickled onions in small piles.
  7. Finish with the Carbs & Garnish (2 minutes): Arrange sliced baguette, crackers, and pita chips around edges or in separate basket. Tuck fresh rosemary or thyme sprigs. Drizzle honey over brie.

Notes

Let cheese come to room temperature for best flavor. Slice fruits and cheeses ahead of time for quick assembly. Use the ‘zone’ method for layout: place bowls first, then cheeses, meats, fruits, nuts, and crackers. Don’t overcrowd the board.
