witches brew green punch - featured image

A vibrant, tart, and refreshing green punch inspired by a lost Chicago party shop. This easy 3-ingredient recipe balances lime juice and green apple soda for a spooky, crowd-pleasing Halloween drink.

Ingredients

  • Green Gel Food Coloring
  • Fresh Lime Juice
  • Green Apple Soda (chilled)
  • Ice (large cubes)
  • Lime Wedges (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Wash limes thoroughly and cut them in half.
  2. Squeeze the juice from the limes into a medium bowl using a citrus juicer or reamer.
  3. Measure the required amount of fresh lime juice and strain out any seeds or pulp.
  4. Ensure the green apple soda is very cold and open it just before mixing to preserve carbonation.
  5. In a large punch bowl, combine the fresh lime juice and the green apple soda, stirring gently.
  6. Add green gel food coloring, starting with 1/2 teaspoon, and stir gradually until the desired shade is reached.
  7. Fill the punch bowl with large ice cubes to minimize dilution and stir to chill.
  8. Garnish with lime wedges and serve immediately in glasses filled with fresh ice.

Notes

Use gel coloring for a brighter, more opaque green that doesn’t water down the drink. If making ahead, mix the lime juice and soda without ice and add ice just before serving to prevent dilution and loss of carbonation. For a spiked version, add 1 ounce of white rum or vodka per serving.
