Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large dragon fruit (white or pink flesh)
  • 3–4 kiwis, peeled and sliced into thin rounds
  • 1 cup green grapes
  • 1 cup blackberries or dark blueberries
  • 1 large banana, sliced into rounds
  • 1 apple (red or green), thinly sliced
  • 1 small bowl of Greek yogurt or cream cheese
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
  • Optional: 1-2 tablespoons black sesame seeds
  • Optional: 1-2 tablespoons pomegranate seeds
  • Optional: Edible glitter or star-shaped fruit pieces
  • Optional: Fresh mint leaves

Instructions

  1. Wash all fruit thoroughly and pat dry with paper towels. Slice dragon fruit in half lengthwise, scoop out flesh, and cut into thin half-moons (about ¼-inch thick). Peel and slice kiwis into thin rounds. Slice banana into ½-inch rounds. Cut apple into thin wedges or rounds. Keep grapes whole.
  2. In a small bowl, mix Greek yogurt or cream cheese with honey or maple syrup until smooth. If using, sprinkle black sesame seeds on top. Place this bowl in the center of a large round platter.
  3. Arrange dragon fruit slices in straight lines radiating outward from the center bowl like spokes on a wheel (about 8 lines). Overlap slices slightly to create continuous lines. Use apple slices to extend lines if needed.
  4. Place kiwi slices in curved lines connecting the spokes, starting about 2 inches from the center bowl and working outward. Create concentric rings around the center, spacing them 1-2 inches apart. Use banana slices for outer rings.
  5. Place grapes in clusters of 3-4 along the web lines, especially where curved threads meet spokes, to create ‘spiders.’ Use blackberries for larger spiders. Space them out so the web pattern remains visible.
  6. Scatter pomegranate seeds around the edges. If using, dust with edible glitter and place mint leaves strategically. Adjust any uneven elements.
  7. Serve immediately or cover loosely with plastic wrap and refrigerate for up to 2 hours. Remove from fridge 15 minutes before serving to let fruit come to room temperature.

Notes

Keep fruit dry to prevent web lines from sliding. Use a parchment paper template for first-time web pattern. Slice fruits of similar thickness (¼-inch). Don’t overcrowd the tray—let the web pattern show. Best assembled no more than 2 hours before serving. For vegan version, use coconut yogurt and maple syrup. To prevent banana browning, brush with lemon juice or add last.
