This recipe delivers juicy, crispy chicken thighs with a sticky, sweet-savory honey garlic glaze, perfect for quick and satisfying weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 46 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • 12 tablespoons olive oil or avocado oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (low-sodium recommended)
  • 3 fresh garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Pat 4-6 chicken thighs dry with paper towels to ensure crispiness. Rub them with 1-2 tablespoons olive oil, then season generously with salt, pepper, and 1 teaspoon garlic powder. Let them sit while you preheat the air fryer.
  2. Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (193°C) and heat for about 5 minutes.
  3. Place the chicken thighs skin-side down in the air fryer basket, making sure they are not touching. Cook for 12 minutes.
  4. Flip the chicken thighs to skin-side up and cook for an additional 8-10 minutes until the skin is golden and crispy and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  5. While the chicken cooks, combine 1/4 cup honey, 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 3 minced garlic cloves, 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar, and a pinch of red pepper flakes (if using) in a small saucepan. Simmer over medium-low heat for 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened and fragrant.
  6. Transfer the cooked chicken to a serving platter and brush generously with the warm honey garlic glaze, reserving some for drizzling.
  7. Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley on top for garnish and serve immediately.

Notes

Pat chicken dry thoroughly for best crispiness. Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to allow even cooking. Use a meat thermometer to ensure chicken reaches 165°F (74°C). Simmer glaze gently to avoid burning. Warm glaze if it thickens too much before glazing. Leftovers can be reheated in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes to restore crispiness.
