This easy crockpot buffalo chicken dip is the ultimate game day snack—creamy, spicy, and made with simple ingredients. Just dump everything in the slow cooker and let it work its magic for a crowd-pleasing dip that stays warm for hours.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 (8-ounce) blocks cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup ranch dressing
  • 1/2 cup buffalo wing sauce
  • 1 1/2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese (optional)
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken in the bottom of the crockpot. Pour the buffalo wing sauce and Worcestershire sauce over the chicken and turn to coat.
  2. Cut the softened cream cheese into cubes and scatter over the chicken.
  3. Cover and cook on LOW for 3 to 4 hours, or on HIGH for 1.5 to 2 hours, until the chicken reaches 165°F and shreds easily.
  4. Remove the chicken, shred with two forks, and return to the crockpot.
  5. Add the ranch dressing and 1 1/2 cups of the shredded cheddar cheese. Stir until melted and smooth.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup cheddar and blue cheese (if using) on top. Cover and cook on LOW for 10-15 minutes until the top cheese is melted.
  7. Garnish with sliced green onions and serve warm from the crockpot on the ‘Warm’ setting.

Notes

For best texture, shred the chicken while warm and use freshly shredded cheddar cheese. To make ahead, assemble the dip (except the top cheese) in the crockpot insert and refrigerate overnight. Cook as directed. If the dip thickens as it cools, stir in a splash of milk or chicken broth.
