Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels to help the sauce stick better and prevent excess wateriness.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and apple cider vinegar. Whisk until blended. Add red pepper flakes if using.
  3. Place the chicken thighs in a single layer at the bottom of the crockpot. Avoid overcrowding; cook in batches if needed.
  4. Pour the honey garlic sauce evenly over the chicken, ensuring all pieces are coated.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 4 to 5 hours or on high for 2 to 3 hours until the chicken is tender and easily pulled apart with a fork.
  6. Optional: To thicken the sauce, remove the chicken and set aside. Turn the crockpot to high and let the sauce reduce for 15-20 minutes, or transfer to a pan and simmer on the stovetop.
  7. Return the chicken to the thickened sauce or drizzle the sauce over the chicken when serving. Garnish with chopped green onions or toasted sesame seeds if desired.
