Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz sharp cheddar cheese, cubed
  • 8 oz brie cheese, wedge
  • 4 oz gouda or Edam, sliced
  • 4 oz prosciutto, thinly sliced
  • 4 oz salami, sliced
  • 1 cup candy corn
  • 1 cup chocolate-covered pretzels
  • 1/2 cup gummy worms or spiders
  • 1/2 cup black olives, pitted
  • 1/2 cup pickles or cornichons
  • 1/2 cup roasted almonds or pecans
  • 2030 assorted crackers
  • 1 apple or pear, sliced
  • Honey or pumpkin butter (for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients: Cube the sharp cheddar into 1/2-inch cubes. Leave the brie whole or slice into wedges. Slice the gouda or Edam into thin triangles. Tear the prosciutto into long, wavy ribbons. Fold salami slices into quarters or roll into cones. Wash and slice the apple or pear, and toss slices in lemon juice to prevent browning.
  2. Arrange the cheese: Place the brie in the center-left, cheddar cubes in the top right, and gouda slices in the bottom left of the board.
  3. Add the meats: Drape prosciutto ribbons near the brie. Place folded salami slices next to the cheddar.
  4. Place the sweet elements: Scatter candy corn in a small pile near the center. Add chocolate-covered pretzels in another cluster. Tuck gummy worms or spiders around the edges.
  5. Add the savory accents: Place black olives in a small bowl or ramekin. Scatter pickles or cornichons near the salami. Sprinkle almonds or pecans in empty spaces.
  6. Add the dippers and spreads: Arrange crackers in a fan pattern around the edges. Place apple and pear slices near the brie. Pour honey or pumpkin butter into a small ramekin and place near the brie.
  7. Final touches: Fill any empty gaps with extra crackers, candy corn, or nuts. Add a small Halloween-themed decoration if desired. Serve immediately or cover and refrigerate for up to 2 hours. Remove from fridge 20 minutes before serving.

Notes

Don’t overthink the arrangement; scatter ingredients in handfuls. Keep sticky items like honey in ramekins. Balance textures: soft (brie), firm (cheddar), crunchy (pretzels), chewy (candy corn), fresh (apple slices). Let cheese come to room temperature for best flavor. Use a mix of Halloween colors: orange, black, purple, green.
