Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless pork chops (about 1 inch thick)
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt (or to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • Pinch of salt (for garlic herb butter)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3-5 minutes.
  2. Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  3. Season the pork chops generously on both sides with salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Drizzle with olive oil and rub the seasoning in with your hands. Let them sit at room temperature for 10 minutes.
  4. Make the garlic herb butter: In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, thyme, and rosemary. Add a tiny pinch of salt and mix until well combined. Set aside at room temperature.
  5. Place the pork chops in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they are not touching. Cook in batches if necessary.
  6. Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 8 minutes without opening the air fryer.
  7. Flip the pork chops using tongs and cook for another 4-6 minutes, depending on thickness.
  8. Check the internal temperature with an instant-read thermometer. The USDA recommends 145°F (63°C); pull them at 140°F (60°C) as they will continue cooking from residual heat.
  9. Remove the pork chops from the air fryer and immediately top each one with a generous dollop of the garlic herb butter. Let them rest for 5 minutes.
  10. Serve warm with any remaining butter spooned over the top.

Notes

For thicker chops (over 1 inch), add a few minutes to cooking time. For thinner chops, reduce time slightly. Always pat pork chops dry before seasoning for better browning. Let butter soften properly for easy mixing. Do not skip the resting step—it ensures juiciness. If using bone-in chops, add 3-5 minutes to total cooking time.
