A spooky and stylish Halloween snack board featuring a curated mix of cheeses, meats, crackers, and seasonal fruits, decorated with creative edible garnishes like olive spiders and pretzel mummies.

Ingredients

  • Sharp Cheddar Cheese (cut into cubes or slices)
  • Smoked Gouda (sliced thinly)
  • Brie or Camembert (whole wheel or wedges)
  • Blue Cheese (crumbled, optional)
  • Salami (folded or rolled)
  • Prosciutto (wrapped around melon or cheese)
  • Beef Jerky or Stick Style Beef (broken into pieces)
  • Assorted Crackers (water crackers, pretzel crisps, baguette slices)
  • Nuts (almonds, pecans, or walnuts, roasted and salted)
  • Dried Fruits (figs, apricots, cranberries)
  • Fresh Fruits (grapes, apple slices, pear slices)
  • Jam or Honey (fig jam, honeycomb, or berry preserve)
  • Black Olives (pitted)
  • Pretzels (twists or sticks)
  • Orange Elements (orange bell pepper strips or orange candies)
  • Chocolate (chocolate-covered pretzels or candies)
  • Fresh herbs (rosemary, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the board base by placing small bowls and ramekins on the board to anchor the design.
  2. Cut cheeses into various shapes (cubes, slices, wedges) and place them on the board, leaving space between them.
  3. Fold or roll the salami and prosciutto and place them in the spaces between the cheeses to add height and texture.
  4. Place crackers and baguette slices in the remaining gaps, leaning them against the cheese for a dynamic look.
  5. Scatter grapes, apple slices, and dried fruits around the board. Add nuts in small piles or in the bowls.
  6. Create Halloween themes: use black olives to make spider eyes, wrap pretzel sticks around cheese cubes to look like mummies, and add orange candies or bell pepper strips for color.
  7. Drizzle honey over some cheeses or fruits and add fresh herbs like rosemary for a pop of green. Adjust items as needed.

Notes

Bring cheeses to room temperature before serving to enhance flavor and texture. Avoid overcrowding the board. For a gluten-free option, use almond flour crackers. For dairy-free, swap in cheese alternatives. Store leftover cheese in airtight containers; do not reheat.
