Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup buffalo sauce (e.g., Frank’s RedHot)
  • 1 cup shredded chicken (rotisserie or poached)
  • 1/2 cup blue cheese dressing
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (for dip)
  • Green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (for lace)
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar (for lace)
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (for lace)
  • Butter or non-stick spray (for baking sheet)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C). In a small bowl, mix 1/2 cup sour cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  2. Transfer the sour cream mixture to a piping bag or ziplock bag with the corner cut off. Pipe thin, random strands onto a parchment-lined baking sheet to create a lace pattern.
  3. Bake the lace for 6-8 minutes until edges are lightly golden and centers are dry. Let cool completely on the sheet to crisp up.
  4. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  5. In a large mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, 1/2 cup sour cream, buffalo sauce, and blue cheese dressing. Beat on medium speed until smooth and creamy.
  6. Fold in the shredded chicken and shredded cheddar cheese gently to maintain texture.
  7. Spread the mixture evenly into a 9×9 inch baking dish or small casserole dish.
  8. Bake for 20 minutes until bubbly around the edges and heated through.
  9. Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes.
  10. Sprinkle with chopped green onions and crumble the cooled sour cream lace over the top just before serving.

Notes

Ensure cream cheese is fully softened to avoid lumps. The sour cream lace can be made up to 2 days in advance and stored at room temperature. If the dip browns too quickly, cover loosely with foil. For a vegetarian option, substitute chicken with roasted cauliflower florets.
